Privacy notice

How PlotBot Ltd uses your details when you visit this website, register your interest or email us, and the rights you have over them.

The short version

  • This website doesn't use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers, and it doesn't run any scripts.
  • If you register your interest or email us, we use your details to review your registration and reply to you. We never sell them.
  • You can ask to see, correct or delete your details at any time by emailing hello@myplotbot.com.

Who we are

PlotBot Ltd is responsible for the personal details described in this notice (we're the "controller"). We're registered in England and Wales, company number 17531724. Our registered office is Vantage House, Euxton Lane, Euxton, Chorley, Lancashire, PR7 6TB. You can contact us at hello@myplotbot.com.

This notice covers this website, the register interest form and emails to us. It doesn't cover the PlotBot portal. If you become a member, we'll give you a separate notice explaining how the portal uses data before you start using it.

What we use, and why

When you visit this website

What
Your IP address and the type of browser and device you're using. These pass through the service that delivers and protects our website.
Why
To show you the pages, and to protect the website from attacks.
Legal basis
Our legitimate interests in running a working, secure website.
Kept for
We don't keep logs of visits to this website. The service that delivers and protects it keeps short-term security records under its contract with us.

When you register your interest

What
Your name, company, work email and mobile number; whether you're a developer or a sales agent; your answers to the form's questions; anything you write in the comment box; and when you registered.
Why
To review your registration, check your company on public registers such as Companies House, the UK sanctions list, HMRC's anti-money laundering register and the redress schemes' registers, and contact you about joining PlotBot. A person reviews every registration.
Legal basis
Our legitimate interests in replying to businesses that want to join PlotBot. If you're a sole trader, it's also a step you've asked us to take before we agree a contract with you.
Kept for
Up to two years after we were last in touch, unless you become a member. Members' details then move to the portal, under the portal's own notice.

When you send the form

What
Your IP address.
Why
To stop spam and misuse of the form, for example by limiting how often it can be sent from one place.
Legal basis
Our legitimate interests in keeping our systems secure.
Kept for
A short time in our server's security logs, which are then overwritten automatically.

If you ask us to keep you updated

What
Your name, email address and mobile number, and the fact that you said yes.
Why
To send you news about PlotBot by email or phone.
Legal basis
Your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form. You can withdraw it at any time.
Kept for
Until you tell us to stop, or two years after we were last in touch, whichever is sooner.

When you email us

What
Your name, email address and anything you write to us.
Why
To answer you.
Legal basis
Our legitimate interests in answering questions about PlotBot.
Kept for
Up to two years after we were last in touch, unless it becomes part of a member's records.

Where your details come from

Mostly from you. When we review a registration, we may also check the details you give against public registers, such as Companies House, the UK sanctions list, HMRC's anti-money laundering register and the redress schemes' registers.

Who we share them with

We never sell your details, and we don't pass them to developers or agents. We use a few service providers who handle data for us. Their contracts require them to keep it secure and to use it only on our instructions:

We may also share details where the law requires it, for example with the police or a regulator.

Outside the UK

Some of these providers are based outside the UK, or may handle data outside the UK. When they do, the transfer is protected in the way UK data protection law requires, for example by UK adequacy regulations or the UK's International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.

Cookies

This website doesn't set cookies, and it doesn't use analytics, advertising or tracking tools. The service that delivers and protects our website may set a strictly necessary security cookie if it needs to check that a visitor isn't a bot. If you log in to the portal, it uses cookies that are needed to keep you signed in.

Your rights

You have the right to:

To use any of these rights, email hello@myplotbot.com. We'll reply within one month.

Decisions made by computer
